Dear Marcher for Life,
Thank you so much for your commitment to the work we do. Whether this is your first visit to our site or your first year joining us on the Capitol Steps in Olympia or the 31st time you’ll be standing with us, your presence and your passion mean more than words can say.
Things are clearly different this year. Seemingly a big part of our heart is missing, our beloved leader Kathy McEntee. But we can assure you that she is with us in every decision we make and every step we take. We all need to come together to fill her shoes. It takes more than a few of us to do it right.
So, this year is different, and with a saint to guide our way, we are going to take on some new challenges. We want to offer more opportunities to tell Washington State and all our neighbors that we are united for Life.
Not only do we invite you to join us on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, but we ask you to make that week in January a Week for Life. We still need you on the Capitol Steps, but we are asking a little more of you this year. Come celebrate hope with us in Olympia as we tell and show legislators that we believe all life is sacred from conception to natural death. The rest of the week we invite you to dedicate yourself to prayer, outreach and conversation.
Tuesday, January 20 | GATHER
We gather to strengthen our resolve and galvanize ourselves to go out and make a difference in our community, while educating lawmakers and reminding them why we come out every year. We will not be silenced.
Wednesday, January 21 | PARTICIPATE
We will go into our communities and find ways to support organizations that educate and offer options to those most affected by abortion and end of life decisions.
Thursday, January 22 | PRAY
We’ll stop to reflect and pray on the anniversary of Roe v Wade. We have to remember the millions of women, men and babies whose lives have been touched by the Culture of Death.
Friday, January 23 | CONVERSE
With newfound strength, knowledge and faith, we will engage in conversation about these issues and our experiences with our neighbors. If you have a blog, talk about the week there. Have a forum where you invite people to talk about abortion. Don’t be afraid to talk to people and continue to make your voice heard.
Please let us know what you have planned for the week, but don’t think for a moment that you are off the hook for January 20th in Olympia! We need to make our voices heard in our state and show that we will not stop coming until we have a culture that respects each and every life, born and unborn.
Thanks again for your prayers, support and participation. We look forward to seeing you on January 20, 2009!
For Life,
Noreen McEntee Hobson
